BBC
I've been fortunate enough to work with the BBC on a number of exciting projects over the years, including helping create the opening titles for their coverage of The Boat Race. As well as around major sporting events such as the Euros & Winter Olympics
Euro 2012
The first of these happened in the lead up to Euro2012 when I was commissioned by BBC Sport to recreate a number of iconic moments from past tournaments. The 111 second Lego animation was broadcast in 2 additions of Football Focus & also featured on the BBC Sport website.
Football review: a look back at 2012
My second commission from the BBC came a few months later, this time to create a festive closer, using children's toy, the video was broadcast on both Football Focus & Match of the Day as well as featuring on the BBC sport website.
Sochi 2014 - Opening Ceremony
I was commissioned by BBC Sport to recreate iconic Winter Olympic moments from previous games in Lego. The video was broadcast on BBC2 as part of the BBC's coverage of the Sochi opening ceremony and shown on the BBC Sport website.
The Boat Race 2017
One of my most high profile projects to date, I was approached by the BBC to help create their opening title sequence for the 2017 edition of the Boat Race. Working in conjunction with a graphic designer at the BBC & a local studio in Aberdeen, I made my first foray into the world of digital fabrication & laser cutting in order to make the stop motion element of the title sequence. Which has been used every year since.
A behind the scenes look at how I made the stop motion element of those opening titles...
